Behind the Scenes: A Day at the Office

When people hear "animal rescue office," they usually imagine rows of kennels filled with cats.

Our office looks... a little different.

Open the door and you'll find volunteers planning the next event or social media campaign, overcrowded desks covered in adoption paperwork and thank-you letters, and shelves packed floor-to-ceiling with kitten food, litter, medications, and foster supplies waiting for their next pickup. It's a small space—but one that's bursting with purpose (and just the right amount of organized chaos).

Then there are the kittens. Some are checking in for vaccines or routine medical treatments, while others are doing everything they can to avoid stepping on the scale or taking their parasite medication. Between appointments, they often cruise the coworking hallways in strollers, soaking up enrichment and charming everyone they meet.

Being part of a bustling coworking community has become one of our favorite surprises. It's given us the chance to introduce Windsor Kittens to neighboring businesses, coworkers, and visitors who stop by to say hello. Every conversation is another opportunity to share our mission, recruit a volunteer, inspire a foster, or connect with a future adopter.

Because we're 100% foster-based, our office isn't where the cats live—it's where everything comes together. It's the hub that keeps our foster homes stocked, our events running, and dozens of volunteers connected, all while balancing full-time jobs, families, and lives outside of rescue. We're already starting to outgrow the space, but in a short time it's become a true home away from home.
